We believe that two cats should have a minimum of two litter boxes possibly three. Also, if you have a 2 story home, it is important to make sure that there are litter boxes on each level of your home. This helps deal with a cat that becomes territorial around the litter box. As a cat parent it is important to pay attention to those types of behaviors and stop them before they become a long term habit. A situation like this can turn a very pleasant loving home into one that at least one of the cats his experiencing anxiety around bathroom time and that is not good for any animal.
